About PSK

History of PSK

The Pharmaceutical Society of Korea (PSK) stands as the premier professional and scholarly organization, comprising scientists from academic institutions, government, and industry, both within Korea and internationally. Established in 1946, the PSK represents the diverse spectrum of professionals practicing pharmaceutical sciences. Its core mission is to foster knowledge, cultural enrichment, and advancement through pharmaceutical research and engaging membership activities.

Recognized as a leading authority in state-of-the-art research and clinical advancements in pharmaceutical studies within Korea, the PSK is wholly committed to promoting excellence across research, education, and clinical practice in this field. Presently, the society operates through three branches, 21 divisions, 17 committees, 6 research groups, and boasts an impressive membership of approximately 16,500 individuals.

Central to its dissemination of knowledge, the PSK publishes three major peer-reviewed journals. Among them is the Archives of Pharmacal Research (APR), a monthly publication in English, alongside Yakhak Hoeji, a bimonthly publication in Korean. Additionally, the society presents Drug Targets and Therapeutics (DTT), published semiannually in English.

The PSK orchestrates significant scientific gatherings twice annually, namely the Spring Convention and Fall Convention, which serve as focal points for the latest developments across all fields of pharmaceutical sciences. These conventions feature distinguished international speakers and showcase about 700 scientific papers, ensuring the dissemination of cutting-edge research to a wide audience.
